We’re Hiring at Natchez Glen House
Natchez Glen House is looking for a thoughtful, reliable, hands-on person to join our small garden and nursery team in Franklin, Tennessee.
We are a working garden, nursery, and design studio focused on creating beautiful, plant-rich gardens. Our work includes growing plants, maintaining gardens, helping with seasonal nursery tasks, preparing for events, assisting with client garden projects, and supporting the day-to-day care of Natchez Glen.
This is a good opportunity for someone who loves plants, enjoys working outside, and wants to learn real horticulture through hands-on experience.
About the Work
This position may include:
- Planting perennials, shrubs, annuals, bulbs, and seasonal garden material
- Weeding, watering, deadheading, pruning, cutting back, and general garden care
- Helping maintain display gardens and nursery growing areas
- Assisting with plant orders, potting, labeling, organizing, and watering
- Helping prepare for garden walks, workshops, events, and customer visits
- Supporting off-site garden installation and maintenance projects
- Working with soil, compost, mulch, tools, irrigation, and plant material
- Helping keep work areas clean, organized, and professional
This is not a mowing-and-blowing landscape job. We are looking for someone interested in gardens, plants, beauty, stewardship, and learning how real planted spaces are built and maintained over time.
Who We’re Looking For
The right person does not need to know everything already. A good attitude, dependability, curiosity, and willingness to work matter most.
A strong candidate is someone who:
- Enjoys working outdoors in all normal garden-season conditions
- Is dependable and shows up on time
- Pays attention to detail
- Can follow instructions and work carefully around plants
- Is physically able to bend, lift, carry, dig, weed, and work on their feet
- Is comfortable doing repetitive garden and nursery tasks
- Is respectful, professional, and kind
- Is interested in learning more about plants and garden-making
- Can work independently after being shown what to do
Previous nursery, farming, landscaping, garden center, floral, or horticulture experience is helpful, but not required.
Schedule and Pay
This may begin as a part-time or seasonal position, with the possibility of growing into more regular work depending on fit, schedule, and business needs.
Pay will depend on experience, reliability, and the type of work being performed.
Location
