Celebrate the start of peony season with us at Natchez Glen House, where over 300 peonies, spanning more than a dozen stunning varieties, bloom across our gardens in a breathtaking spring display.

This hands-on, three-hour workshop is entirely dedicated to one of the most beloved garden plants: the peony. Whether you’re a devoted grower or just beginning to fall for their charms, this workshop will give you the knowledge, confidence, and inspiration to grow and care for peonies with intention.

What You’ll Learn:

• The anatomy and lifecycle of peonies—from roots to shoots, buds to blooms

• Soil health and site selection for long-term success

• How to plant, divide, and maintain peonies

• The differences between herbaceous, tree, and intersectional (Itoh) varieties

• Designing with peonies in the garden

• Troubleshooting common issues and seasonal care tips

This is a hands-on experience taught by me, Steve Mydelski, here in the very gardens where these peonies thrive. You’ll get to see, touch, and observe the nuances of each variety and stage of growth, right at the peak of the season.

Each guest will receive two special gifts:
– A curated trio of perennials from our nursery, selected by me based on what’s looking best at the time
– A fresh flower bouquet to take home, as a seasonal reflection of the garden in bloom
